The Mandalorian’s Penultimate Episode will Have a The Rise of Skywalker Sneak Peek

The Rise of Skywalker premiere is just right around the corner and given the success of The Mandalorian it only makes sense to provide another exclusive look into the end of the Skywalker saga via the highly successful series. That said, Disney+ has announced the penultimate episode's arrival on a special time on December 18, Wednesday instead of dropping it on the usual Friday for it to coincide with The Rise of Skywalker's December 20 release (via Collider).

The streaming giant has yet to confirm the exact time of its release or the episode's title, but it will be directed by Debrah Chow who served as director for episode three titled The Sin. Disney has also yet to confirm if the episode will coincide with the sneak peek, however, the chances are slim given that the series is set following the events of Return of the Jedi.

The official synopsis of the episode reads as follows: "An old rival extends an invitation for The Mandalorian to make peace." Giancarlo Esposito's Moff Gideon is also expected to make an appearance, according to the official press release (via TV Guide), as a former governor under the Empire.

The Mandalorian is expected to run for eight episodes and will have its finale on December 27, just a few days after The Rise of Skywalker premiere.
