Royal Mail Releases Commemorative Stamps in Preparation for The Rise of Skywalker

The Rise of Skywalker is just a few weeks away and in line with this, the Royal Mail has released a line of exclusive stamps to mark the occasion. The 16-stamp set features characters and vehicles from the much-beloved franchise.

Ten of these stamps include illustrations of characters Count Dooku, Darth Maul, Lando Calrissian, Sith Trooper, Jannah, Grand Moff Tarkin, Zorii Bliss, Poe Dameron, Queen Amidala, and Wicket Warrick. The remaining six, on the other hand, are dedicated to the franchise's most famous vehicles. These are the Podracer, Slave I, Poe's X-wing fighter, Starfighter, the TIE silencer, and speeder bikes.

"Once again Malcolm Tween takes us on a journey across the Star Wars galaxy with extraordinary artwork of characters old and new," Philip Parker of the Royal Mail said in a report in the Hereford Times. "The stamps are miniature masterpieces and a fitting tribute to mark the end of the Skywalker saga."

These specially commissioned illustrations were the work of digital artist Malcolm Tween and distinctly feature striking backgrounds that result in hyper-realistic montages. It also comes on an illustrated carrier card complete with two protective plastic strips to keep the stamps in their optimal mint condition.

The collection is set to be released on November 26 and is now available for pre-order on the Royal Mail's official website. The Rise of Skywalker, on the other hand, is set to hit theaters this coming December 18.
