Birds of Prey is set to hit theaters in a few months and during a panel at CCXP, it released all-new footage and posters of characters like Black Canary, Huntress, and Black Mask, in addition to a glimpse into the film's opening scene.
Just as the panel began, the Birds of Prey official Twitter account began posting a thread of each character poster with a vital role in the film. These also include its antagonists Black Mask and Victor Zsaz. Art enthusiasts may notice how the art of the posters seemingly drew inspiration from Sandro Botticelli's Birth of Venus.
The aforementioned footage showcased at the panel involved Harley Quinn distancing herself from the Joker, moving into a new home, and blowing up a large building. Birds of Prey, of course, is only one out of the many panels that will be happening at CCXP. DC fans may also look forward to potential news about Wonder Woman 1984 in the next few days.
Birds of Prey is directed by Cathy Yan and will star Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress, Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary, Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain, Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya, Chris Messina as Victor Zsasz, Ewan McGregor as Black Mask, and Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. It is set to premiere on February 7, 2020 and its official synopsis reads as follows:
"You ever hear the one about the cop, the songbird, the psycho and the mafia princess? Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) is a twisted tale told by Harley herself, as only Harley can tell it. When Gotham's most nefariously narcissistic villain, Roman Sionis, and his zealous right-hand, Zsasz, put a target on a young girl named Cass, the city is turned upside down looking for her. Harley, Huntress, Black Canary and Renee Montoya's paths collide, and the unlikely foursome have no choice but to team up to take Roman down."
