Ant-Man 3 Getting Ready for Principal Photography

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is well on its way to expanding into its much-awaited Phase 4 and with it comes preparation for several of its most awaited sequels, new series, and latest installments. In this case, it comes in the form of the still-unnamed Ant-Man 3, which according to an exclusive report from Murphy's Multiverse, is set to film in countries around Europe.

The same report also confirms that production has touched base across the ponds in collaboration with Pinewood Studios UK. If you may recall, Black Widow followed a similar pattern. Other films slated to drop, on the other hand, such as The Eternals is still filming in the Canary Islands while Shang-Chi and Thor: Love and Thunder: are expected to undergo a large portion of their principal photography in Australia.

This third Ant-Man film was confirmed by Marvel sometime earlier this summer and is set to be directed by Peyton Reed, who was also behind 2015's Ant-Man and last year's Ant-Man and The Wasp.

Additional photography is reportedly also expected to be done around Atlanta and Hank Pym actor Michael Douglas has previously confirmed his return to the third installment. He also went on the record with Collider saying that they are expected to begin filming in January of 2021.

Details of the film's plot itself have yet to surface but speaking with Comicbook.com, its director Peyton Reed had this to say: "There are definitely things in this movie that, if we're fortunate enough to make another one, there's a lot to play with. We spend more time in the Quantum Realm in this movie, obviously, than the first movie but it feels like we're just dipping our toes into it."

Ant-Man 3 will arrive in theater in 2022, but for now, you can stream its first installment on Disney+.
