Dan Harmon Comments On Rick And Morty’s Jab At Game Of Thrones’s Writing

This week's episode of Rick and Morty took a jab at Game Of Thrones writing, commemorating the death of the popular fantasy epic's story telling devices during Rest and Ricklaxation's end credit sequence.

However, while the insult pointed at Game of Thrones Season 7 writing doesn't seem entirely beneath the people working on Adult Swim's popular animated science fiction comedy series, Rick and Morty co-creator Dan Harmon thinks the joke was entirely out of line.

Not only does he call the insult a "lazy, craftless jab" at the writing of his favorite show, he also apologizes to Game of Thrones fans for the snarky remark made by a "pointlessly jaded teenage intern in Atlanta."

In turns out, the Rick and Morty team had nothing to do with the Game of Thrones bumper. Instead, the jab was made by a member of the Adult Swim team who had added it on to the episode before airing it. Harmon's comments echoes the same response made earlier this week by Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland who had claimed that he hadn't even noticed the Game of Thrones bumper.

Though some critics would agree with the jab that the quality of writing on Game of Thrones has changed this season, it seems like Harmon isn't one of them.

Game of Thrones season 8 premieres sometime 2918 or 2019.
