Daisy Ridley Thinks That She Wasn’t Very Good In Star Wars: The Force Awakens

A lot of Star Wars fans might love the Star Wars sequel trilogy's new hero, Rey, but it seems like Daisy Ridley wasn't too fond of her performance as the Force-sensitive Jakku orphan in The Force Awakens.

Speaking in an interview with Elle for the magazine's upcoming December issue (via Digital Spy), Ridley said that she didn't really think her debut as Rey was all that good, admitting that she also "struggled" while dealing with the pressure of the film's sequel, Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

"I didn't think I was good in the first film, and I was struggling with that," the British actress opened up.

Ridley then went on explaining how she didn't fully understand the pressure of becoming a Star Wars star.

"I did the first one because I didn't really know what I was getting myself into and I was having loads of fun, and suddenly I'm realising what this actually is," she said."[I realised] I can't f**king do this. I'm highly dramatic."

It doesn't come as a surprise. Before appearing in The Force Awakens, Ridley had very few roles in the Hollywood industry, and the actress has admitted before that the pressure of her popularity had gotten so bad, she had to get some therapy to deal with it. Being famous does have its downsides after all, especially when it comes to privacy.

Let's hope that Ridley learns to deal with her celebrity status better now that The Last Jedi is fast approaching.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits cinemas December 15, 2017.
