Daisy Ridley Is Not Entirely Sure About The Appeal Of Star Wars

Daisy Ridley is now the face of one of the biggest franchises in the world, and her being the protagonist for Star Wars: The Force Awakens has led to her becoming an instant A-list celebrity. As it turns out, Ridley is not entirely sure about the appeal of Star Wars and its popularity is still quite baffling to her.

Ridley had recently done an interview with Vogue magazine, to which they write:

As for the ongoing appeal of Star Wars, [Ridley's] not entirely sure where the magic lies—except, she says, that "it's essentially a family drama that's played out in this big, expansive world."

Ridley's confusion about the success of Star Wars could be quite understandable if she was someone who didn't really grow up with the films. One could say that one of the main reasons why Star Wars is such a success is nostalgia, and fans who grew up loving the franchise as a child only seem to find more and more reasons to love it as an adult.

People who usually get exposed to Star Wars at a later age usually have the same reaction that Ridley has to it—they don't quite understand the appeal.

As a huge fan, I could definitely say that the franchise still has me hooked well into my adult life. Sure I love the space battles and toys when I was young, but as an adult I fell in love with the production work and the movie's ability to age well throughout the years.

Maybe in the long run, Ridley will eventually get what has fans all over the world so crazy for Star Wars. Then again, even Harrison Ford doesn't think it's all that great after all these years.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi comes out Dec. 15.
