Daisy Ridley and Tom Holland are the faces of two of the biggest box office franchises right now—Star Wars and Spider-Man, and the two are coming together to star in a movie called Chaos Walking.
According to THR, the movie will be directed by Edge of Tomorrow's Doug Liman, and it will be based on a YA novel written by Patrick Ness. Charlie Kaufman (Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind) and Jamie Linden (Money Monster) are said to have written the script. Here's the synopsis for Chaos Walking:
The Carnegie Medal winning books are set in a dystopian future with humans colonizing a distant earth-like planet. When an infection called the Noise suddenly makes all thought audible, privacy vanishes in an instant. In the ensuing chaos, a corrupt autocrat threatens to take control of the human settlements and wage war with the indigenous alien race, and only young Todd Hewitt holds the key to stopping planet wide-destruction.
As of now, the movie is set to start production next month with Daisy Ridley taking a break between Star Wars movies and Tom Holland wrapping his work on Avengers: Infinity War. A lot of good names are attached to the project, and with the sci-fi banner attached to it, Chaos Walking looks to be one ambitious film.
Doug Liman's Chaos Walking is set to come out March 1, 2019.
