The release date for the DC Universe streaming app has finally been announced. Fans will be able to enjoy a ton of classic DC content next month, on September 15. In addition to classic tv shows like Batman: The Animated Series and Wonder Woman, the service will also be home to new shows like the controversial Titans, Doom Patrol, Swamp Thing, and so much more.

As revealed in a press release, DC Universe will be launching on the same day as Batman Day, which has become a mini-geek holiday in recent years. It's a cute move to make and will make a lot of DC fans happy. Currently, the streaming service will only be available in the US, though expect it to expand to other countries when/if it becomes popular enough.

It will be interesting to see how this service can compete with Netflix, Hulu, and the like. Relying on the DC name brand alone is interesting, to say the least, so those new shows better be good. DC has had a plethora of content over the years so there is a good chance that the service will be a success.

Mark your calendars fellow geeks, as DC Universe will be coming out on September 15. It will launch with a number of classic shows under its belt before the premiere of Titans in October.
