DC Releases Trailer For Dark Knights: Metal Graphic Novels

DC did everything they could to hype up Dark Knights: Metal when it was coming out in single issue form. That same effort is now being used to get people excited about the hardcover graphic novel, which looks gorgeous. To commemorate the story in collected form, DC has released a trailer hyping up Metal and it's going to make fans wish an animated adaptation was on the way.

Starting off with an ax-wielding Batman via some animation, we then transition to seeing the evil Batmen and members of the Justice League. While Bruce Wayne's alter-ego was the lead character, Superman and Wonder Woman also had prominent roles to play, especially towards the end.

Metal is a pretty wild ride, with plenty of fanservice throughout for those that like Batman or DC in general. The series has a number of memorable moments, from using Baby Darkseid to summon Barbatos to a big fight with the Batman Who Laughs, it's easy to see why fans hold this event in such high regard.

It's not perfect admittedly, as Snyder does have a hard time setting up some of the more colorful elements post-Metal. The tone can also be off, with melodramatic speeches about darkness going hand-in-hand with awesome, superhero beatdowns. Still, it's a worthwhile journey and one that can keep fans busy.

The hardcover of Dark Knights: Metal comes out on June 12.
