DC May Be Planning To Release 3-4 Movies A Year

It's no secret that the DC Cinematic Universe didn't kick off with a great start, with the first three movies being received with lukewarm reviews. The successful release of Wonder Woman, however, has added a fresh rejuvenation of the brand, and it sounds like DC is now more confident to move forward with new movies.

According to Umberto Gonzales on Heroic Insider:

"A lot of people have been asking me 'What's the next movie in 2018?' I know for a fact that DC is trying to get three to four movies made a year going forward."

He also teases that DC may have some big announcements planned at the San Diego Comic-Con this July, suggesting that anyone who wants in should be at Hall H this summer.

As previously reported, the future of the DCEU is very dependent on how 2017 turns out. Sure Wonder Woman was a huge success, but the producers are still waiting to see what audiences think of Justice League before they can plan more carefully ahead.

As of now, the only DC movie slated for a release next year is Aquaman starring Jason Momoa. The Flash film was slated for a release early 2018, but with multiple directors quitting the project, DC may just as well have to delay the release of Ezra Miller's first solo superhero movie.

With that in mind, it's possible that they could just pick-up movies like Joss Whedon's Batgirl instead or maybe Gotham City Sirens. I also wouldn't object to getting a Green Lantern Corps. movie next year.

Hopefully Justice League turns out just as successful as Wonder Woman. JL hits theaters Nov. 17.
