DC Comics Announces Old Lady Harley Mini-Series

After Old Man Logan and Old Woman Laura, DC will be taking a stab at the concept with Old Lady Harley. Unlike those stories, which were What If-style stories integrated into the series' ongoing titles, this will be a separate mini-series written by Frank Tieri, who previously wrote Harley and her Gang of Harleys for DC.

Spinning off from the one-shot story seen in Harley Quinn #42, which first introduced this version of the character, this mini-series will elaborate on this alternate DC future as we follow a much older Harley Quinn.

Hoping to retire after liberating New York from her now feral Gang of Harleys, the Joker's ex-lover is now being hounded by the Laughing Boys Gang, who claim that their leader is Mistah J himself. The press release (via Newsarama) also reveals a number of interesting facts about this alternate future, including Power Girl as the president for some reason.

It was only a matter of time before DC decided to give this concept a mini-series, given how popular Harley Quinn has become. The character's current ongoing series still sells well and Harley herself is more popular than ever thanks to Suicide Squad, the Batman: Arkham games, and other forms of media that feature the character.

Old Lady Harley #1 (of 5) comes out on October 24, from the creative team of writer Frank Tieri and artist Mauricet.
