DC Announces Injustice vs He-Man Comic Mini-Series

DC Comics have fully embraced crossovers in recent years, which has been a very good thing. From Batman aiding the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to Green Lantern has visiting Planet of the Apes, no crossover has been deemed to obscure for the publisher. However, their newest one might be the most interesting yet.

In a crossover no one saw coming, DC has announced Injustice vs He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. The Injustice universe has never really done comic book crossovers, aside from a brief appearance in Convergence, so seeing these versions of DC characters interact with He-Man of all people is an interesting move.

Granted, Injustice 2 has Hellboy, the TMNT, and two fighters from Mortal Kombat but that's on a fighting game, not a comic book.

He-Man did previously crossover with the modern day DCU and the Thundercats, so this isn't too new to the character. Apparently, Batman will recruit the character to take on the evil Superman in Injustice.

Maybe this means he will be a DLC character for Injustice 2? A fan can dream.

Former Nightwing writer Tim Seeley will be scripting the six-issue mini-series, while Freddie E. Williams II will draw the crossover. Williams II also drew the He-Man/Thundercats series, as well as the Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles mini, along with its current sequel. It seems like the artist has a knack for these kinds of comics and fans can't get enough of them.

Injustice vs He-Man #1 comes out on July 18. Injustice 2 is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The comic book tie-in can be viewed now through digital devices, with physical copies of the series coming out later.
