Conan Producer Rants About Star Wars Being Better Than Star Trek While Dressed As Spock

The whole debate on whether Star Wars is better than Star Trek has been running between the two franchise's fandom's for decades, and though everyone knows that there's no definite answer to the argument, a recent sketch on the talk show Conan reveals how much the show's executive producer, Jordan Schlansky, sides with Star Wars in the argument.

Introducing Schlanksy as a hard-core Star Wars fan, Conan O'Brien says that he and his team have forced the TV executive to come up on the show dressed as Spock as a homage to Star Trek.

However, while Conan and the team intended to have Schlanksy great the Star Trek fans on the franchise's anniversary, the TV producer eventually finds himself discussing the reasons why Star Wars is much better than Star Trek for more than six minutes. It's a pretty long tirade, but if you try to listen clearly, then fans of both franchises might find that Schlanksy has some pretty good points that they can agree with.

In the end, the TV executive points out the root cause of the issue. Though both have often been called "science fiction" franchises, Schlanksy points out that Star Wars should instead be called "science fantasy." Putting the story of a galaxy far, far away in a different category would definitely put an end to the argument – what's there to argue when Star Wars and Star Trek don't even share the same genre?

How about you? Which do you prefer, Star Wars, or Star Trek? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below.
