Comicbook Creator Rob Liefeld Meets Cable In Deadpool 2 Set Photo

The comic book creator of Deadpool and Cable's always been impressed by Brolin's version of the time-traveling mutant in Deadpool 2 and now it seems like the two actually got to meet up on the set of the Deadpool sequel.

Taking to Instagram to gush about Deadpool 2 director David Leitch's casting choices, Liefield decided to post a photo of himself talking with Brolin, calling him one of fan's favorite and "one of the most talented actors of all space and time!"

Here are the other things that Liefeld wrote in his post:

"CABLE!! Say what?? I'm going to actually meet him in the flesh and blood(and steel coils)?? And, oh, by the way, he's one of your favorite and one of the most talented actors of all space and time! Yeah, I dare you to try and meet one of your own creations and not get umpteen butterflies in your stomach. I don't remember anything that was said here besides me thinking "I'm meeting CABLE!! HOW AWESOME IS THIS?!?!" Mr. Josh Brolin could not be more perfect in this role. He is amazing and outstanding and you will no doubt be as giddy as I was when watching him portray Cable. His commitment to becoming Cable goes beyond his physical transformation, he found the voice that fans will go crazy about! Ryan as Deadpool and Josh as Cable. Look out World this is going to be nuts! #cable #xforce #deadpool #robliefeld #marvel #20thcenturyfox"

Back in September, Liefeld also gushed about a photo that Brolin shared showing him standing next to an electrical pole with the word Cable on it, writing #cableswole. The comic book writer loved the photo so much, he said that he wanted to try and incorporate the image "into a future cover" for his comics.

Though a lot of fans felt a bit hesitant about Brolin's casting when it was first announced, thinking that the Marvel star was too small for the role, the fanbase has really warmed up to him and so has original comic book creator Liefeld. We wonder whether that likeability will hold when we get to see Brolin's Cable in Deadpool 2.

Deadpool 2 hits cinemas June 1, 2018.
