Cloak and Dagger Sees Delay But Lands Showrunner

Marvel has been making some pretty awesome strides in both cinema and TV. Its TV series have been finding their respective successes, but that doesn't mean that hiccups aren't bound to happen.

This is slightly the case with Marvel's Cloak and Dagger. After being confirmed as a straight-to-series production, it seems that it will now see its premiere pushed back from the expected April release to a winter 2018 date.

Cloak and Dagger follows two teenagers who have just acquired their respective superpowers. Tandy Bowen can emit light daggers, while Tyrone Johnson can wrap others in darkness. Their complementary powers mean they are right for each other, but as most romances go—feelings complicate things.

There is still some good news despite the delay. The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that a showrunner has been linked for the series. Joe Pokaski is reportedly rewriting the initial script for Cloak and Dagger.

Hopefully, we'll hear more developments about the show. It will be under Freeform, whose target includes the young adult generation, which can definitely give Marvel TV a different angle.

Synopsis:
This exciting new series is an adaptation of the beloved Marvel characters aimed squarely at young adults. This live-action interracial romance follows Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson, two teenagers from very different backgrounds, who find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers while falling in love. Tandy can emit light daggers and Tyrone has the ability to engulf others in darkness. They quickly learn they are better together than apart—but their feelings for each other make their already complicated world even more challenging.
