Chris Pratt Reveals When Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Starts Filming

Since Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was announced in advance, it has made many fans very confident about the chances of Star-Lord, Drax, Mantis, and Groot coming back after they were killed at the end of Avengers: Infinity War. The fact that Chris Pratt and Dave Bautista confirmed their comebacks not too long ago hasn't helped the illusion Infinity War was hoping to keep, so this recent update won't do that either.

During a video interview with MTV about Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Pratt revealed that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 would start filming in January 2019. Pratt did mention filming sometime in 2019 not too long ago but this is the first time he has mentioned an actual month.

Now that the film has a vague release date, it's easy to assume that this movie will be coming out on 2020. Right now, the only Marvel films confirmed for 2019 are Captain Marvel and the unnamed Avengers 4. The studio might want to leave it this way since Avengers 4 will be a turning point for the whole MCU and will likely be a lot to digest for viewers.

While the return of those turned to dust by the Infinity Gauntlet seems almost inevitable, it's not yet clear if this means Gamora will be coming back as well. Thanos killed her so that he could get the Soul Stone, so her death seems pretty definitive. Fans were hoping that Gamora's soul would be inside the stone but the Russo Brothers have turned that theory down, despite confirming it earlier.

Avengers 4 hits theaters on May 3, 2019.
