Check Out This SDCC Exclusive Holographic Princess Leia And McQuarrie Concept Art Han Solo Bust

A lot of hearts were broken when word came out earlier this month that Star Wars and The Last Jedi would be foregoing this year's Comic-Con International: San Diego so that they could put all of the efforts into Disney's D23 expo that's going to be held this weekend.

Fans had hoped that new footage of The Last Jedi would be screened at SDCC and while many are disappointed that Lucasfilm won't be around, fans attending the event can console themselves with the fact that exclusive Star Wars collectibles can be found at the convention.

Gentle Giant Ltd. Has just recently announced that they're offering a couple of neat Star Wars collectibles at this year's SDCC, one of which is a holographic Princess Leia statue.

Here's what the company wrote on their website:

"'Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi…you're my only hope.' It's the phrase that spurned a farm boy to be a hero, made an exiled Jedi come out of hiding and ignited our imaginations for the past four decades. To help celebrate the 40th anniversary of Star Wars: A New Hope, one of the most iconic moments in modern film history is captured here, in this Collector's Gallery statue from Gentle Giant Ltd., when a holographic message from Princess Leia Organa, that was smuggled inside the memory banks of a feisty droid, is played first for a dumbfounded Luke Skywalker and then again for the message's intended recipient, Obi-Wan Kenobi."

The second item is a $120 limited-edition Han Solo mini-bust that's based on Ralph McQuarrie's early concept artwork of the iconic smuggler. Check the description and the photo down below:

"Ralph McQuarrie's early designs of Han Solo display a vast difference from that of the final version as seen in Star Wars: A New Hope. Designed initially as a Lightsaber wielding, bearded Jedi Knight, this mini bust explores a fascinating look into the conceptual development of one of science fiction's most roguish smugglers."

Sure these items aren't really the same as a first look at a new Star Wars: The Last Jedi preview, but they're pretty rare and they last longer too. Star Wars fans shouldn't cry too much over Lucasfilm skipping this year's SDCC – there's still a lot to look forward to at the convention.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi premieres on December 15, 2017.
