Check Out Never-Before-Seen Concept Art Of Knights Of Ren

Star Wars fans got a brief view of Kylo Ren's (Adam Driver) Knights of Ren in The Force Awakens and while the franchise is moving on to the second film of the Star Wars sequel trilogy, there is a lot about the group that remains a mystery.

Though they seem particularly imposing, all that's known about the Knights of Ren is that the group is under Kylo's command, and outside of The Force Awakens it seems like the unit hasn't made any appearances in any other Star Wars material at all.

Until today that is. Star Wars News Net managed to find some leaked concept art of the Knights of Ren during the production of the first sequel trilogy film, and while the publication was excited to share the art piece with fans, they decided against it out of respect for Lucasfilm. Now that the franchise is getting ready to release The Last Jedi, the publication has started sharing the photos, one which can also be found in The Art of Star Wars: The Force Awakens art book and the other which still hasn't been publicly released.

Afraid that they might be overstepping bounds, Star Wars News Net asked their artist friend to do a sketch recreation of the unpublished art piece.

It's interesting to note that while the costume design of the Knights of Ren art piece which made it to The Force Awakens art book has heavy Japanese leanings, the unpublished piece has a more desert-look to it, with their turbans and coats.

One of the Knights of Ren in the unpublished art piece also seems to have the frame of a female, fitting right in with that frame in The Last Jedi BTS reel showing Daisy Ridley fighting of two men and one woman while training.

It's been heavily speculated that Luke and Rey will find themselves accosted by Kylo and his Knights of Ren on Ahch-To, so could Ridley have been preparing for her Knights of Ren fight scene in the BTS reel? Let's wait and see.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits cinemas December 15, 2017.
