Finally. It looks like the gears on Twentieth Century Fox's long-awaited Gambit production have started to roll, because the studio has finally given the project a release date.

Though fans have been waiting for the Gambit X-Men spinoff ever since Channing Tatum first joined the X-Men franchise a few years ago, work on the project had been stalled numerous times.

Not only did the film's production lose its director, Doug Liman, the project was also forced to start from scratch after the team encountered creative issues with Gambit's original script back in August.

However, it seems like Gambit's ball has started rolling again, because according to a report by Deadline, Fox has just announced that the studio's scheduled Tatum's solo superhero film to hit cinemas on February 14, 2019.

The project had successfully sealed the deal with Gore Verbinski and with the Pirates of the Caribbean director set to helm the project, the studio decided to pin a date for Gambit.

However, fans shouldn't be eager to celebrate just yet. Gambit had been able to nab a director and a release date before with Rupert Wyatt as its helmsmen and a 2016 premiere, but production fell through because of creative issues.

Hopefully, this time around, everything will go fine for Gambit.
