Catwoman Isn’t Going To Be In The DCEU’s Birds Of Prey

DC fans might have been hoping to see Selina Kyle again on the big screen, but it looks like Catwoman won't be leaping into Warner Brothers' Birds of Prey movie for the DC Extended Universe.

Though there had been reports where the Suicide Squad spinoff starring Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn had included the anti-heroine, writer Umberto Gonzalez (who contributes to the Wrap) just recently went on Twitter to debunk rumors and reveal that Catwoman has no part in Birds of Prey.

Early this month, word started spreading that Warner Brothers had cast Spectre actress Léa Seydoux as either Catwoman or Black Canary. However, according to Gonzalez, the actress wasn't even in early talks for any role in the film.

The report must come as a disappointment to DC fans. Selina is a fan-favorite character, and many would have wanted to see the DCEU bring the character to the big screen after the character made its way to The Dark Knight Rises, the third film in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy.

Though the Birds of Prey team usually only involves the Oracle of Barbar Gordon, Lady Blackhawk, Huntress and Black Canary, Warner Bros. has added in Harley Quinn because of her popularity. Right now, only Harley and Barbara have been confirmed for the film.

Birds of Prey doesn't have a release date yet but we'll update everyone as soon as we get word.
