Captain Marvel Star Brie Larson Wants To Try Directing A Marvel Movie

Brie Larson may not have had her debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe just yet, but it looks like the Captain Marvel star wants to have a hand at directing a future superhero movie for Marvel.

Thinking about the long-term development of her career and a future behind the camera, Larson expressed interest in directing a comic book movie for Marvel in an interview with the Huffington Post.

"Oh yeah, that's my plan. Why not? My new life philosophy is I'm not going to tell myself no. I'm just going to do stuff until someone else tells me no."

Larson certainly sounds like a yes lady, and while the actress has yet to appear in any Marvel movie, we know for a fact that quite a number of Hollywood stars have transitioned from acting to directing films. Look at the DC Extended Universe's Ben Affleck – sure fans might have hated Batman V Superman but as a director, the DCEU star did pretty well directing Gone Baby Gone.

Sure Larson's been doing pretty well as an actress, winning the 2016 Best Actress Oscar for starring in the Room, but she's also recently tried out directing her own film, Unicorn Store, a comedy about a woman receiving an invitation to fulfill her childhood dreams. The film might not have done so well with critics, but who knows, Larson might become good enough to try directing a Marvel movie.

Avengers: Infinity War hits cinemas May 4, 2018, while Avengers 4 premieres May 3, 2019.
