Captain Marvel Should Lead All-Female Avengers Group According to Evangeline Lilly

With Avengers 4 coming out next year and the fate of the original Avengers up in the air, fans feel like it might be time for an all-female Marvel group. This came up when Marvel started a photo shoot showcasing the franchise's 10-year anniversary and the women decided to take a selfie that made fans want to see these characters together in a film.

All superhero groups need members however and if Evangeline Lilly has her way, Brie Larson's Captain Marvel will be leading the group. Some might argue that Black Widow or Valkyrie could lead this unit but Carol Danvers will be the most powerful member in the MCU. Add her military intellect and she would be a perfect fit.

Here's Lilly's argument as to why Danvers should lead the group (via PopBuzz):

"Well, it seems only natural Captain Marvel would lead because she is a general? And she's the captain. And Captain America leads the other Avengers, right, so maybe Captain Marvel would lead. I'd think so. I think I'm being a bit old fashioned and maybe a little bit rigid about this, because if it is an all-female Avengers film, then the sky's the limit. We can reinvent the wheel. We don't have to do anything that anyone's ever done before. We can just make it all up and change the game."

Until we see Avengers 4, it's hard to predict what will happen to the MCU and what's next for these beloved characters. Spider-Man is going to have a second film next year with Far From Home and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is going to happen, with or without James Gunn. If an all-female Marvel movie is in the works, we can only hope that it happens in a natural and fun way.

Captain Marvel comes out on March 6, 2019, while Avengers 4 comes out sometime after on May 3, 2019.
