Captain Marvel: Samuel L. Jackson Teases Interesting Tidbit About 90's Nick Fury

Next year is a big one for the MCU. Not only are we getting the end of the Avengers: Infinity War saga, fans will also be treated to Captain Marvel, the first Marvel Studios film with a female lead. Aside from the live-action debut of Carol Danvers (played by Brie Larson), fans are also looking forward to the film's setting (the 90's), the enemies (Skrulls), and a younger Nick Fury, still played by Samuel L. Jackson.

What should get the attention of fans is the neat details Jackson gave in an interview with the AV Club.

Jackson said that Carol's first encounter with Nick Fury isn't going to be a typical one. According to the actor, the paranoid head of S.H.I.E.L.D. will have someone else's face before presumably revealing himself.

"We're going back now, and I meet Captain Marvel in more of an origin story. You'll see Nick Fury with another guy's face, somebody that's got two eyes, so that's a whole big deal. You'll see. It's prior to the eye injury, no eye patch."

Fans of Fury will likely be pleased with the move since it's perfectly in-character for the grumpy spy. The character has done this a number of times in the comics, though he prefers using his L.M.D's (Life Model Decoys) to do his bidding. Still, this should make his appearance in the movie more interesting and one has to wonder how it will connect to Infinity War.

Captain Marvel will hit cinemas on March 6, 2019.
