Captain Marvel Production Update Suggests Movie Could Lead Into Avengers 4

Marvel's starting to wrap up production on Ant-Man and the Wasp, and it looks like the studio's getting ready to work on the Marvel Cinematic Universe's very first female-led installment.

Now, with the studio starting up Captain Marvel's pre-production, word has started to spread that Marvel is currently looking to cast key roles for scenes that are scheduled for shooting for at least one week during late January next year.

While it comes as no surprise to many, filming might actually coincide with production on Avengers 4, teasing the possibility that Captain Marvel might lead into the second installment in Marvel's two-part Avengers movie.

Coming from MCU Exchange, word also has it that Avengers 4 might finish production early in March and then wrap up in July next year. With this in mind, the film's production could coincide with work on Captain Marvel, one of the MCU's most highly anticipated movies in 2019.

There isn't that much info about the project yet, but speculation has it that the film is to be set in the 90s with an adaptation of Elements taken from The Kree-Skull War. Samuel L. Jackson is reportedly set to reprise his role as Nick Fury in Captain Marvel and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story star Ben Mendelsohn as reportedly been rumored to play the film's bi bad.

Captain Marvel hits cinemas March 8, 2019.
