Captain Marvel: Kevin Feige Teases Carol's Whereabouts

When it was revealed that 2019's Captain Marvel would take place in the 90's, fans immediately wondered what happened to Carol Danvers and why she hasn't appeared in previous films. The Marvel movies have almost always been set in the present, aside from the first Captain America and now Captain Marvel. Kevin Feige decided to give fans a little teaser about Carol's fate and it should get theories started.

During a press junket for Thor: Ragnarok, io9 asked Feige where Carol has been in the previous Marvel movies. Feige was vague, obviously, but he did say that "the key is….out there." That opens up a number of possibilities and is likely related to the cosmos that fans are more familiar with, thanks to Guardians of the Galaxy.

Marvel did confirm that Captain Marvel would feature the Skrulls and the Kree, two alien races who are at war with each other. Both races have been active in the Marvel universe, thanks to stories like Secret Invasion and the Kree/Skrull War. Wherever she is, expect her to play a big part in Avengers: Infinity War and it's unnamed sequel. Funnily enough, the original Captain Marvel (Mar-Vell) was part of the Kree though it is doubtful that he will appear in the film.

Captain Marvel is slated for a March 8, 2019, release. Fans will be able to see more of the Marvel cosmos in Thor: Ragnarok next month.
