Captain Marvel Could Wrap Production In a Few Weeks

The successful release of 2017's Wonder Woman has lead to a lot of pressure from Marvel Studios to produce their own superheroine-led movie. Captain Marvel is currently in the works, and news has it that the movie is almost done with production.

As per The Wrap's Umberto Gonzalez:

So far, we haven't seen any official images for the film, but we have gotten a lot of set photos of Brie Larson in her green costume. We've also gotten a look at 90s-era Nick Fury played by Samuel L. Jackson.

With the Captain Marvel teaser at the end of Infinity War, a lot of people are wondering if the film could explain just exactly how Nick Fury had holding back bringing in Captain Marvel, despite the full-on alien invasion in the first Avengers movie.

My guess? He lost contact with her prior to the events of the first Avengers, and was only able to reconnect with her after Earth's Mightiest Heroes had already been assembled. Then again, it would be fascinating if Marvel could come up with an answer nobody can guess at all.

The story follows Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe's most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. Set in the 1990s, "Captain Marvel" is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Captain Marvel hits theaters March 8, 2019.
