'Rogue One' and 'Game of Thrones' Nominated for a Ton of Visual Effects Awards


Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has been nominated for a huge amount of visual effects society awards, Deadlinereports. It has more nominations than any other film. In total, it has been nominated for seven categories.

The nominations include one for Outstanding Animated Performance in a Photoreal Feature for the movie's work with Grand Moff Tarkin. The CGI recreation of Princess Leia and the Star Destroyer earned a nomination for Outstanding Model in a Photoreal or Animated Project. The Scarif complex scenes were nominated for Outstanding Created Environment in a Photoreal Feature

The battles in space earned a nomination for Outstanding Virtual Cinematography in a Photoreal Project .The destruction of Jedha netted the Outstanding Effects Simulations in a Photoreal Feature nomination. Finally,

Rogue One

overall earned a nomination for Outstanding Visual Effects in a Photoreal Feature.

Game of Thrones

also creamed the competition when it came to nominations, netting 11 nominations, which is two more than the show got last year.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens

also got seven nominations last year and won four awards. The VES awards will be held on February 7.

Both

Rogue One

and

Game of Thrones
