Deadpool, Westworld and More Nominated for 2017 Golden Globes


The nominations for the 2017 Golden Globe Awards have been released and they include some significant sci-fi and fantasy flicks, THR reports. The Golden Globe Awards are a long-running American-based accolades association that recognizes excellence in film and television. This will be the 74th Golden Globes Awards.

Deadpool has been nominated for "Best Motion Picture- Musical or Comedy" and Ryan Reynolds has been nominated for "Best Perfrimance by an Actor- Musical or Comedy" for his perfomance as the main character of the film. Meanwhile, Westworld, Game of Thrones and Stranger Things are all competing for "Best Televisions Series- Drama". Evan Rachel Wood and Winona Ryder have been nominated as "Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series-Drama" for their roles in Westworld and Stranger Things respectively.

As far as "Best Motion Picture- Animated" goes, Moana, Zootopia, Kubo and the Two Strings, My Life as a Zuchinni and Sing are all competing for the top spot. The awards will be held on January 8 2017 at 8:00 PM EST. Jimmy Fallon will be hosting.
