Brian Michael Bendis Working On Mystery X-Men Film For Fox

Brian Michael Bendis might be DC-bound now but it looks like his legacy with Marvel will always be a part of him. As fans wait with anticipation and fear for his upcoming runs on Superman and Action Comics, it looks like the iconic writer will also be helping Fox out for a mysterious X-Men project. Deadline claims that Bendis will be working with Deadpool director Tim Miller for a new film with a working title called 143, with many assuming it will be a film about Kitty Pryde.

Reports about Miller's Kitty Pryde/Shadowcat film surfaced last year, which was a nice surprise for fans. Anyone who has read Bendis' runs on All-New X-Men and Ultimate Spider-Man knows that the writer is a huge fan of Kitty Pryde. Having these two work on a Kitty Pryde project would be a match made in heaven for many a fan.

As for why the film's working title is called 143 remains unknown. It's worth noting that Uncanny X-Men #143 has Kitty Pryde, then going by the name Sprite, taking on a demon named N'Garai. While the other X-Men do make an appearance, Pryde is the central character for the issue, as it deals with her tense battle against N'Garai.

No release date for the film has been discussed. Deadpool 2 comes out on May 18.
