Tobey Maguire's First Spider-Man Film Had a Daredevil Appearance

Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy is beloved by fans and is still widely regarded to this day as one of the best live-action adaptations of our web-slinging hero. Of course, it's all thanks to its iconic characters, timeless stories, and action-packed sequences as well as the comic book references Raimi and team were able to cleverly inject that only true blue fans will notice.

A lot of us are aware by now of the Shazam! and Doctor Strange references and easter eggs from the first two films, but did you know that the original installment in the Raimi trilogy actually had a clever cameo from Daredevil? You didn't notice it, did you? Apparently, one of Bonesaw McGraw's victims in the wrestling show where Peter Parker participated to earn some bucks for his dream car was none other than Jack Murdock, the original Daredevil and it's actually confirmed in the film's novelization written by Peter David. In the comics, Murdock was a boxer past his prime who would take any job he could just to provide for his family. At one point, he was asked to don a red devil costume which was primarily one of Matt's inspirations in creating his own suit when he became the crime-fighting vigilante. You truly discover something new every single day!

And yeah, while it isn't exactly Spidey's close ally Matt Murdock, it's still a clever touch that is a treat (and a shock) to discover after almost 20 years. Now, with Raimi returning to his Marvel roots after leaving the superhero genre behind following 2007's Spider-Man 3, it'll be interesting to see what he does with the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. And with the film, led by Benedict Cumberbatch exploring the wonders of the Marvel multiverse, maybe we could potentially see appearances from familiar faces and so much more. The possibilities are endless, I'm telling you!

That being said, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hits cinemas in 2021!
