The Mandalorian Season 2 hasn't even premiered yet but it's quite evident that Disney+ is beyond adamant about pushing through with Season 3 of the Star Wars spinoff series and guess what, not only has it been greenlit, it's also on track to begin production real soon! And by soon, I mean by the end of 2020. Now, that's some exciting news ahead of the show's much-awaited second season premiere.

The news was confirmed by creator and director Jon Favreau himself. In an interview with Variety, the acclaimed director who also happens to be the mastermind behind the launching of the billion-dollar phenomenon Marvel Cinematic Universe confirmed that The Mandalorian Season 3 is "on schedule" to begin production by the end of the year. Other details about it are still being kept under wraps.

What this means, of course, is that Disney+ is definitely cashing in on the growing popularity of the show but let's be real here, plans for Season 3 shouldn't come as a surprise anymore as we always knew that it would somehow happen, we just didn't know when and how. Now, with Favreau actually toying with the idea of taking Mando and The Child's exploits to the big screen, it's looking more obvious that they could be setting up the show's own shared universe and I think it's only a matter of time before it unfolds. To say that I am excited is an understatement. For now, though, let's focus on the upcoming chapter.

The Mandalorian's brand new season will begin streaming on Disney+ this October 30th.
