In case you missed it, Warner Bros. is developing a live-action Static Shock film which will be produced by Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan. We still know very little about the upcoming project but the question on everyone's minds right now is which actor would be the perfect candidate to play Virgil Hawkins in the DCEU. Apparently, to a lot of fans, StrangerThings actor Caleb McLaughlin, who plays Lucas Sinclair in the hit Netflix sci-fi series is a strong contender for the role.

Of course, artist BossLogic didn't waste any time hyping up the potential casting. Taking to his official social media handles, the Australian illustrator unveiled his awesome collab artwork with fellow artist Amir Anbarestani which depicts the fan-favorite Caleb as the DC Extended Universe's electrifying hero. I gotta say, it totally works! Check it out here:

It may seem a little too soon to some fans considering Static only made his debut in the '90s, but to the character's credit, he immediately gained a strong following thanks to the successful Static Shock animated series which ran in the mid-2000s. I also believe that the DCEU could definitely use a fresh and youthful hero to balance things out so I'm all for it. As for McLaughlin's chances of actually scoring the role, I think he'll nail the part should he be given the opportunity. As someone who's seen the original animated series, I think Caleb completely captures Static's vibrant and fun-loving persona so I'm down with the idea as well.

Other details about Static Shock are still being kept under wraps.
