Solo Director Reveals Harrison Ford’s True Sentiments Regarding the Star Wars Film

Fans have mixed feelings towards Solo: A Star Wars Story and two years after the film originally came out, director Ron Howard is looking back on the spinoff film's "legacy" if you'd like to call it that. Even though Solo wasn't as well-received as he hoped for it to be, it still did pretty decently at the box office and while a second installment isn't exactly in the works, he says that the fan enthusiasm alone could eventually change all that.

Howard also revealed that one of the biggest fans of Solo was the original Han Solo actor himself, Harrison Ford. According to him, the Star Wars icon was extremely supportive of the project and he was pleased with Alden Ehrenreich's performance as a younger version of Han. He told Lights, Camera, Barstool (via Star Wats Net): "Harrison Ford liked Solo and very much and was supportive when he saw it. He was so gracious and complimentary to Alden."

He added: "He said some things publicly, but privately, it was really great to see him put his hand on Alden's shoulder and say "great job kid," and Alden worked so hard and it was a very high-risk situation for him and he was a cool customer and was really a pleasure to work with, as was that entire cast, they are just a great bunch."

It's good to know that Alden ultimately got Harrison's respect and seal of approval and that alone speaks volumes of how much of a class act the original Han Solo truly is. Now, I personally wouldn't mind seeing Alden pilot the Millenium Falcon one more time in a potential sequel. I just hope they'd do things a little differently next time to please the legions of Star Wars fans.

While we wait for that to happen, let's all catch episode two of The Mandalorian Season 2 this November 6 on Disney+.
