There seems to be some disturbance in the Force as Disney+'s Rogue One series is experiencing behind the scenes issues due to the COVID-19 pandemic, prompting the project to hire a new director.

According to a report from Deadline, director Tony Gilroy who was originally tapped to helm the series which revolves around Cassian Andor's exploits is being replaced by Toby Haynes who is best known for his work in Black Mirror. Gilroy reportedly had to step down as director due to travel issues brought upon by the pandemic.

Disney has declined to comment regarding the matter but worry not as there seems to be no bad blood between Disney and the former director over the decision. And why should there be an issue? The change happened due to unforeseen circumstances anyway. I'm pretty sure Haynes will do the project justice considering his critically-acclaimed Black Mirror episode has some Star Trek vibe to it. So he isn't exactly new to the sci-fi genre.
