Lucasfilm Reportedly Eyeing Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson for Star Wars Project

Avid fans of the Star Wars saga need not worry as Disney is obviously looking to expand the universe and quite frankly, there's still plenty more stories left unexplored and some of them we'd love to see go down on both the big and small screens. Now, there's a new rumor that has surfaced online which suggests that a big Hollywood name is being eyed by Lucasfilm for a future Star Wars project.

The actor in question is none other than Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and according to a report from Vocal, the ex-WWE megastar could be Star Wars-bound in an undisclosed project. Besides The Mandalorian and the upcoming Obi-Wan series, Lucasfilm is also cooking up a new Star Wars full-length feature which is expected to hit cinemas in 2025. Could The Rock be involved in that project? The reports haven't been confirmed yet so like I always say, take everything with a grain of salt.

Now, I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who immediately thought of Darth Bane upon learning this new rumor. The Jumanji and Hobbs and Shaw actor would totally kill it as the iconic Sith Lord considering his jacked physique and overall imposing presence. I mean, that's how he landed a role in DC as Black Adam in the first place, right? It's also worth noting that previous rumors have suggested that a Darth Bane project is coming our way in the future. This could just be a mere coincidence, of course, but who knows? The Rock could wreak havoc in the galaxy and I'd be down to witness that.

In other Star Wars news, The Mandalorian Season 2 is hitting Disney+ this coming October 30.
