Arrowverse Star Brandon Routh Says DCEU Cameo as Superman is ‘Always a Possibility’

Brandon Routh's first and only outing as Superman on the big screen via 2006's ill-fated Superman Returns wasn't as well-received as a lot of fans hoped it would be but his brief return as the Man of Steel in the Arrowverse's Crisis on Infinite Earths event proved that he can still effectively portray the iconic DC character and I gotta say, he looks the part now more than ever.

Now, with all the talk of the DCEU taking their crack at the Multiverse very soon, Brandon has opened up regarding the idea of him making an appearance in Ezra Miller's The Flash which is set to feature Ben Affleck's caped crusader comeback, as well as Michael Keaton, although that one is still unofficial.

In an interview with Geek House Show, the Legends of Tomorrow actor gave fans a sense of hope, the way Superman only can by saying it's totally possible. He said: "Can we? I mean yeah I think that's always a possibility," Routh shared. He added: "Of course, they're bringing in Michael Keaton, which I'm excited about, and some other people from the past DC projects. I think it's very exciting - it worked really well in "Crisis On Infinite Earths," and I was extremely proud and honored to be a part of it and to reprise my Superman. So it's absolutely a possibility - you can do anything! Everybody lives and dies all the time in those things."

His Crisis cameo as Kingdom Come Superman surprisingly generated a lot of positive buzz from fans and critics, with some of them even hoping that he can continue playing Clark Kent in his own separate series over at The CW or even on the big screen. Now, I'm all about giving actors a second chance, and considering Brandon could apparently still cut it as Superman, I'd be more than willing to see him make an appearance in The Flash.

Speaking of, The Flash is still slated for release sometime in 2022.
