Brainiac And Supergirl Man Of Steel 2 Rumors Debunked

Yesterday we reported on a rumor that said that Brainiac and Supergirl were going to debut in Man of Steel 2, but wouldn't you know it, all those rumors have turned out to be false. That's what you get when your source is an anonymous poster on 4chan.

Umberto Gonzales from Heroic Hollywood has debunked the MoS2 rumors as well as all the other "news" that was apparently on the thread:

Besides the rumors on Supergirl, it was also said that Wonder Woman 2 was looking for a strong female antagonist to rival Gal Gadot, and the Suicide Squad sequel was going to have Diablo return. There's also a post about a Nightwing movie starting with a Dick Grayson who gave up superhero-ing and is now a cop in Bludhaven.

I was already skeptical of the rumor yesterday, but with previous news talking about Mad Max's George Miller working on a Superman movie, I had to give the rumor the benefit of the doubt.

So far, we only know that Henry Cavill will be returning as Superman in Justice League, but we don't have any news of him starring in another solo film. Hopefully Cavill gets a chance to "redeem" his Superman character with a film that won't be so divisive to audiences.

Justice League comes out Nov. 17.
