Brad Pitt Dropped From Deadpool 2’s Running For Cable

It looks like Deadpool fans aren't going to see Brad Pitt as the Merc with a Mouth's buddy, Cable.

Though the Hollywood A-Lister had previously been in the running for the role of the buff cyborg mutant, Comicbook reports that 20th Century Fox couldn't work out a deal with Pitt. Deadpool 2 director David Leitch reveals that the studio and the creative team involved with the project are now moving on from the idea of having Pitt as Cable and are now searching for another Hollywood star to play the role.

"We had a great meeting with Brad, he was incredibly interested in the property. Things didn't work out schedule-wise. He's a fan, and we love him, and I think he would've made an amazing Cable."

Sure Pitt's reputation would have been useful in marketing Deadpool 2 and his enthusiasm for the character would have wowed fans, it's probably all for the best. Pitt would have probably detracted attention from the Merc with a Mouth considering his Hollywood stature. Now that Pitt is out of the game, the frontrunner for the Cable race is Man of Steel actor Michael Shannon.

Deadpool 2 is expected to begin production later this year and is expected to hit cinemas sometime next year.
