Bob Iger Gives Says Fox Acquisition Will Generate More Marvel Content For Disney’s Streaming Service

With Comcast out of the way, Disney can now safely complete its acquisition of 21st Century Fox and its various film and television assets. There's a lot of excitement building over the merger, with Marvel fans hoping that the acquisition might bring the X-Men and other mutants to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Now, it looks like Marvel fans have a bit of an idea of what to expect from Disney and Fox's merger. Yesterday, Walt Disney Studios had its 2018 Third Quarter financial result conference call (via ComicBook.com), and Disney CEO Bob Iger decided to tease the early original programming that would come out of the merger in the company's upcoming online streaming service.

According to Iger, the deal between Disney and Fox is going to give the Mickey Mouse House to tell more stories in its streaming service, especially with stories that involve Marvel Comics.

This is definitely good news for Marvel fans. Knowing that the Fox acquisition is expected o bring the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and other mutants to the MCU, having everyone gather together in Disney's streaming service is a good place to start. Sure, everyone's hoping that the mutants might make their way to the big screen, but we all know that it might take a little more time for Marvel Studios to adjust and bring in the X-Men and all of the other mutant characters.

Let's just wait and see.
