Bloodshot is set to start Sony's Valiant cinematic universe and some butts were put in seats when Vin Diesel was cast for the lead role. As we wait for official images and clips, Sony has been busy and managed to snag a few more stars for the comic book adaptation.
Variety has confirmed that Eiza Gonzalez of Baby Driver fame, Sam Heughan from Outlander, and Michael Sheen have been cast for the Valiant superhero flick. All of them will be joining Groot himself Vin Diesel and it will be interesting to see how this film does. At least it has a fairly talented cast.
Sony is hoping that the film is the start of a blockbuster franchise akin to Marvel. The recent Valiant comic books have been very good, so if the film has a similar tone to the current comic series of Bloodshot, we could have a winner in our hands.
For those unfamiliar, Bloodshot is a mortally wounded super soldier who was given a second chance and enhanced abilities via nanotechnology. He has been tasked with rounding up super-powered individuals, often putting him into conflict with the other Valiant characters. Recently, he has been able to break free from these nanobots and is trying to rediscover his past.
No release date for Bloodshot has been revealed.
