Blade Runner: Ridley Scott Confirms That Deckard Is A Replicant

Though Blade Runner may have ended with the possibility of Deckard being a replicant, it wasn't mentioned at all in the sequel Blade Runner 2049. Though a lot of fans may debate about it timelessly online, Ridley Scott himself has confirmed that Deckard is not really a human.

This was posted up by Kong: Skull Island director Jordan Vogt-Roberts:

Of course, it's possible that Scott was just trying to satisfy the fanboy in Vogt-Roberts, so the actual identity of Deckard is still up in the air. We'll have to wait until his replicant-identity is confirmed in an actual movie—that is if Harrison Ford is still willing to appear in another Blade Runner.

Despite critical success, Blade Runner 2049 has actually underperformed in the box office. A lot of people are attributing this to the fact that some audience members may be expecting a high adrenaline action film but instead got this slow burner of a movie that felt like a true successor to the original film.

Box-office performance aside, Dennis Villenueve's follow-up is a definite cinematic masterpiece. Amazing sounds, visuals, and overall story. Shame the majority of audiences found the film rather boring.
