Billie Lourd Remembers How Carrie Fisher Encouraged Her On The Force Awakens Set

The world may have grieved when actress, writer, and mental health advocate Carrie Fisher passed away last year but nobody could have probably felt more pained by the loss than the Star Wars legend's family. Fisher was especially close to her daughter, Billie Lourd, and the young American actress kept to herself for a while after the passing of her mother.

Now, speaking with Town and Country, Lourd opens up about her struggle after losing her mother and grandmother Debbie Reynolds in December last year, sharing a story about how Fisher encouraged her during principal photography of The Force Awakens.

"The thing is, I was bizarrely comfortable on set. My mother would pull me aside and be like, ‘It's weird that you're so comfortable here. This is the most uncomfortable environment in the world. If you're comfortable here, you should do this.'"

Lourd will be returning to the Star Wars sequel trilogy as Lieutenant Connix of the Resistance in The Last Jedi and the young actress will get to star along with her mother in the last Star Wars film where Fisher is set to appear.

Lucasfilm had initially planned a larger role for Fisher in Star Wars: Episode IX but the Star Wars legend's untimely passing had cut their plans short, forcing them to keep Fisher to The Last Jedi. It'll be interesting to see how Lourd's Connix moves on without Leia in Episode IX.
