Big Hero 6 The Series Gets First Official Trailer

Fans of the first film have been waiting for this but Disney Channel has finally released the first full trailer of Big Hero 6 The Series. While the first season has already aired in other countries, fans in the US will finally get the animated series on June 9, so that's exciting.

Now featuring a 2D art style instead of a 3D one, the series takes place after the events of the first film, as well as the TV movie Baymax Returns, which was essentially the series' extended pilot. The series looks to be a fun one and the animation looks pretty solid, so here is hoping that we get to see the group in some fun adventures.

Since the first film mostly focused on the relationship between Hiro and Baymax, it would be nice if the series focused on other characters. The rest of the group were barely characterized, so this animated series could give them the spotlight they deserve. At the least, they won't be as one-note as they were in the film.

The adventure continues for 14-year-old tech genius Hiro and his compassionate, cutting-edge robot Baymax. If dealing with the academic pressure of being the new kid at the prestigious San Fransokyo Institute of Technology weren't enough, it's off-campus where things really get tricky. Hiro and Baymax, along with their friends Wasabi, Honey Lemon, Go Go and Fred, unite to form the legendary superhero team Big Hero 6, protecting their city from a colorful array of scientifically-enhanced villains intent on creating chaos and mayhem!

Big Hero 6 The Series premieres in the Disney Channel on June 9.
