Bethesda Sues Warner Bros. Over Westworld Game's Similarities With Fallout Shelter

Bethesda might be coming from an E3 high but it looks like the studio doesn't like it when they see images that were meant to be theirs in a different game. To the surprise of many, Bethesda will be sewing Warner Bros. over the Westworld mobile game, which supposedly uses a number of art assets that belong to Fallout Shelter.

According to TMZ, Bethesda hired developer Behavior Interactive to work on Shelter all the way back in 2014. The Westworld game plays similarly to Fallout Shelter, with players tasked with making sure that their NPCs happy. In fact, the game plays too similarly with Bethesda even claiming that the game has several bugs in it that originated from Shelter.

The gist of the lawsuit seems to be that Behavior Interactive used the same coding from Fallout Shelter to make the Westworld game. Warner Bros. has yet to respond to the lawsuit and it will be interesting to see if this gets dragged out or if a solution presents itself along the way.

Fallout Shelter continues to be a hit with mobile gamers and has recently found a home on consoles. Players can download this game, along with Westworld, for free on their mobile devices.
