Benicio Del Toro Thinks The Collector Survived Avengers: Infinity War

The Mad Titan Thanos might have wrecked havoc across the galaxy as he went on his pilgrimage searching for the six Infinity Stones, but according to Marvel's Benicio del Toro, his character, The Collector, just might have survived the Mad Titan's massacre in Avengers: Infinity War after all.

Those who've already seen the first installment in Marvel's two-part movie remember seeing The Collector in a scene where he was being interrogated by Thanos in the Collector's museum, only to find out later on that it was all an illusion created through the Reality Stone. The Mad Titan had already destroyed the Collector's entire museum, and many believed that the Collector had been killed off.

However, it seems like Del Toro doesn't feel the same way at all. Speaking with Cinema Blend to help promote his upcoming film Sicario: Day of the Soldado, Del Toro was asked whether or not The Collector had been able to survive the wrath of Thanos in Infinity War.

"I think he's alive. Yeah... I think that, you know, I think he's alive. You're talking to him!" the actor responded.

Though the answer seems like some sort of joke, there's still no knowing the actual fate of The Collector. Sure Thanos might have destroyed the Collector's museum, but there weren't any signs that the Mad Titan had killed off the character in the film. Maybe the collector escaped. Who knows. Kevin Feige did say that he wanted the Grandmaster and the Collector to team-up together in a future MCU movie – so the Elder of the Universe might actually be safe.

Avengers: Infinity War is currently screening in cinemas.
