Ben Affleck Says He’ll Play Batman As Long As DC Wants Him To

A lot of rumors have been coming out recently about Ben Affleck eventually leaving his role of Batman in the DCEU, and a lot of fans started getting worried. Despite BvS' critical reception, Affleck's portrayal of the Caped Crusader has been nothing short of accurate, and it seems like we might be saying goodbye to him sooner than expected.

As it turns out, rumors are just rumors, and Ben Affleck says he'll be playing the part of Bruce Wayne for a while. In an interview with EW, Affleck explains:

"Warners has been working on it, making sure we're getting it right. That's the partnership you definitely want. With Wonder Woman, they really hit a home run. With [Justice League], I think we've found the tone, and found the flavor of it. I'd love to do it as long as they'll have me. Eventually it'll be somebody else, and I'm sure they'll get somebody great. But while I'm doing it, I'm going to do the best job I can, and really appreciate how lucky I am."

A lot of fans can definitely understand Affleck's eventual exit. We can all agree that he may be too old to play the character forever, and we've only seen his Batman in two films so far, so we might not be ready to see him hang up the cowl yet.

If they were to have Ben Affleck stop playing Batman, I would prefer that he still keep a minor role in the series. Maybe they can pull a Batman Beyond and have an older Bruce mentor a young Terry McGinnis. I would also love to see the Bat-family—Batgirl, Nightwing, Robin, and Red Hood—together onscreen before Batfleck exits the DCEU for good.

As of now, we still have no release date for the next Batman movie, but we do get to see him return in the upcoming Justice League which comes out Nov. 17.
