Ben Affleck Changes His Mind About Batman Movie Now That Script Work Has Begun

Though DC fans were rather relieved when word broke out that critically-acclaimed Hollywood star and director Ben Affleck would be taking the reins on DC's next Batman movie, the Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice certainty on working on The Batman film has proven rather shaky.

Earlier this month reports indicated that Affleck wasn't so sure about The Batman anymore, saying that if the script of the film didn't come together he'd ditch the project. Now, a new update says the Argo direcor's changed his mind about the DC movie, saying that a Affleck is feeling positive about the script for The Batman film. Speaking with IGN (via Cosmic Book News) about his latest film, Live By Night, Affleck mentions how work on The Batman script has kicked off and how excited he is about the film.

"It's the same thing as any other movie. It's like, 'When I'm excited about it. We're working on a script. When we get there. We're gonna make it.' We're really excited. There's great stuff in it. Now, it needs to get better and better.

"It's the same way I felt about this movie [Live by Night] when I was prepping it," Affleck continued. "It's just that no one was asking me questions because nobody gave a sh-t because there wasn't any click-throughs, but it took me a year plus to get this movie ready to launch. Hopefully it won't take me that long for Batman, but we're working. I think we are ahead of the curve, and we're excited."

In the interview Affleck also reveals that he's excited to see Justice League's release on the big screen – an indication that the new DC film might be a whole lot better than Zack Snyder's Batman vs. Superman. With so much energy for both The Batman and Justice League, fans can hope that Affleck rides this wave and pushes through with his work on the Batman movie.

While The Batman hasn't been given a release date just yet, Justice League has been scheduled for release on the big screen on November 17 this year.
