Zuko VA Dante Basco Could Show Up in Netflix’s Live-Action Avatar: The Last Airbender

After the garbage fire that was M. Night Shymalan's The Last Airbender, Netflix is looking to make a second attempt at a live-action Avatar, this time with original creators Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino. What's interesting is, the series could bring back a familiar face—or rather, a familiar voice.

Talking to Collider Games, Zuko voice actor Dante Basco has teased that it's possible that he could be making an appearance in the live-action series. He says, "I'm part of the Avatar family for life ... I might pop in somewhere."

Back in February, showrunner Konietzko had also teased that they are currently ‘looking for multiple ways' to include Basco in the show, but not as Zuko. At age 44, Basco is proven to be too old to play the prince of the Fire Nation.

If anything, fans are already pitching multiple roles for Basco to take on should he be put in the show. While I'm fine with him playing a cameo role like the cabbage merchant, I would love for him to take on a more significant part. Maybe he can be a younger Iroh from a flashback? Or maybe a younger Avatar Roku? What about the warden of the Boiling Rock? I just think Basco just has to play someone from the Fire Nation.

We haven't gotten any significant updates on the live-action Airbender series yet, but hopefully we get some kind of reveal before the year ends. Fingers crossed the series gets to Netflix sometime next year.

No release date has been announced for the live-action Avatar The Last Airbender, but you can check out the original animated series now on Netflix.
