It's been ten years since the release of the first Zombieland film, but now a sequel is in the works with the same guys behind the first film. Zombieland 2 is set to come out later this year, and we may have the main plot finally revealed.

Zombieland 2 will follow the charismatic group of zombie slayers following the events of the first film as they settle into their post-apocalyptic lives. They've chosen a more luxurious lifestyle and decided to set up camp in the White House. After a disagreement between Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) and Wichita (Emma Stone) causes the group to split, Little Rock (Abagail Breslin) runs off with Berkeley (Avan Jogia), a guy she just met.
The group then sets off to rescue Little Rock, but, of course, they aren't alone in the world. New types of zombies have overrun the world, they include Homers (dumb ones), Hawkings (smart ones) and Ninjas (deadly ones). Along the way, Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) meets his match in the form of a female zombie-hunting badass named Nevada. This makeshift family will have to use all their skills and follow Columbus' survival rules if they want to make it out alive.
What I absolutely love about the story is that it still sounds like a continuation of Columbus' survival guide from the first movie. While the first film had some tips on how to survive, Columbus has now added upon some different types of zombies to his list.
I'm also excited to see what kind of woman they can pair up to Tallahassee. Fingers crossed it's Thandie Newton because they're romance in Solo: A Star Wars Story was kind of cut short.
It's worth noting that Ruben Fleischer (Venom) is once again returning to the helm of this film, and it may be his work on Zombieland 2 that has prevented him from coming back to helm the Venom sequel. Writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Deadpool) are also in charge of the script for Z2.
